-the Dos and Don'ts of professional emails to Producers and Development Executives

-how to professionally Follow Up with all of the above

-your own specific questions and next steps, as they come up, week to week

 

My experience:

-sold a script to two different broadcasters - IFC Channel and AMC Channel

-in-the-room experience pitching HBO, Amazon, Hulu, IFC, AMC, Sundance, Showtime, CBC and others

-prepped and (survived) Zoom-pitches in Toronto, with serveral production companies

-personal business-structure, in order to receive payment: spent close to two years becoming incorporated / setting-up payment channels / facilitating script sale payment / locating accounting dept. point-person, across different offices and U.S. states.

-union / non-union writer-status: pros/cons

-partnered with different creative producing teams, both in Canada and the U.S.

-navigated changes in creative/ writing-partnerships / registration of my intellectual property/ research & acquisition of lawyers / negotiations with different types of lawyers and law firms, both in Canada and the U.S.

-Canadian script registration / United States Copyright registration VS WGA registration registration: what to spend money on

-partnered unofficially with a manager and officially with an agent

-the factors involved in deal structures/ percentages/ participation in a variety of structures

-crafted countless emails and PDFs for producers and executives
